Update and some fun!

I just love this picture! I think he might want in. What do you think?
Well, here is what I am working on now. It is a cute little project from Cross Country Stitching and will become another small pillow.

Boy, did it rain here last night!!!! And it has been rainy all day. Of course Katie had to splash in the puddles and take me for a walk in the rain! I didn't mind though. Heck, I like walking in a light rain anyway. It is more like spring here with temps in the 50's today. I thought this was winter? Better not complain or I might be sorry! Have a great new year's everyone!

Pass it forward

Okay I am doing a pass it forward thing in 2007. The first 5 people to e mail me at
minpinmom2005-sewnsews@yahoo.com will get a little goodie from me sometime in the coming year. May be a little cross stitch surprise or a beaded angel my choice. In exchange you will do the same thing. Pick 5 people to recieve something from you. Hugs and blessings.

Happy New year!

Well, blogger is being a pain! So instead of posting what I wanted, I will just wish you a happy new year! hugs!

Say good bye mom!

Just a little something to tickle your funnybone!

I was shopping and noticed a little old lady following me around.

I stopped, she stopped. Furthermore she kept staring at me.

She finally overtook me at the checkout, and she turned to me and said,

"I hope I haven't made you feel ill at ease; it's just that you look so much like my late daughter."

I answered, "That's okay."

"I know it's silly, bu t if you'd call out "Good bye, Mom" as I leave the store, it would make me feel so happy."

She then went through the checkout, and as she was on her w ay out of the store, I called out, "Goodbye, Mom."

The little old lady waved, and smiled back at me. Pleased that I had brought a little sunshine into someone's day, I went to pay for my groceries.

"That comes to $121.85," said the clerk. "How come so much .. I only bought 5 items.."

The clerk replied, "Yeah, but your Mother said you'd be paying for her things too."

Here I am!

I trust everyone had a wonderful Christmas? It was nice and quiet here and Jack and I had a lovely meal. Jack gave me some nice gifts. A lovely skirt, a collection of DMC color variations and a collection of DMC light effects (pearlessent). I gave him a model and software so he can design his own decals for his models. He has been wanting that for awhile. Katie-Bug got a denim jacket. Here is Katie snoozing in dad's chair on his wooly coat! She looks quite at peace!

Here she is modeling her new jacket. She loves it!

And although it is scary, it is true! I finally have a finish! Ta-da!!!!! Drumroll!

Here is Jack's current WIP. I love the softness of the colors.

Well, that is all in my little world today. Have an awesome day!

How about a poem? Oh, and some silliness!

Here ya go! With all that I and my friends have gone through of late, I thought this was most fitting.

GOD'S WONDERFUL GRACE

Just as sure as the stars in Heaven
Shine forth in the darkness of night,
We can rely on the love of God
To carry us through our plight.

Just as sure as the sun each morning
Gives of it's light through the day,
We can know that we have God's presence
No matter what comes our way.

We may not have all the answers
To the many trials we face,
But on one thing we can rely-
We are kept by God's wonderful grace.

Olive B. Elvin

Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house Katie slept and...

slept and...

slept!

We need a smile today!

Its a bird, it's a plane!!! Nope, it's super katie the mule-a-roo! Now you are asking why we call her the mule-a-roo. Well, she kicks like a mule when she is laying next to you and she hops when she runs. So bet you can figure that out!
Family update: Jack talked to my cousin Brent. He isn't questioning God on why as he believes it was Dustin's appointed time to go. He says it is hard and he is very sad and he is asking God to help him and his family through it and give them comfort. WOW!!! Doesn't surprise me on how Brent feels but I wonder could I be that strong in the same situation? I hope so!
Me update: I am a bit better. I turned the corner on the dehydration. My head pressure and pain has gone! Thank the Lord! Eating is still trouble but I am inching along! Thanks for all your loving thoughts and prayers this past week. I so hope to get back to visiting blogs this week.

Asking for more prayers

Here I am asking for prayer once again. We just got word today my cousin Brent lost his 17 year old son Dustin in a car accident last night. I am heart broken! My cousin Brent is a godly man and a pastor of a church in my home town. Jack is talking to my aunt right now. The family is, as you can imagine, devastated. Pray for Dustin's family please. I am not well enough yet to attend the funeral but my heart is with them as you can imagine. God never promised every day would be perfect or pain free. As you know it rains on the just and unjust alike. Dustin's dad and granddad are taking it really hard. My great uncle, Dustin's granddad, owns a used car dealership in my hometown. Brent and my other cousin Kirk work with their dad on the lot. They are all a very close family. Sorry, I am rambling on so I will close for now. God bless you all.

Too sick to post for awhile

Hello all. Well, I spent the evening an night in the e.r. yesterday. I was very, very dehydrated and have the beginnings of a bladder infection. I am still really weak and not allowed toeat solid foods until tomorrow. Praise the Lord I got to come home!!!! But I will be down for the count at least through the weekend. Prayers appreciated and I hope to be back soon. If you comment on a post and I don't moderate it right away, I am not doing e mails right now either. God bless you all.

Christmas wish for you

For you my friends and the friends I have yet to meet.

MY WISH FOR YOU AT CHRISTMAS

My wish for you this Christmas,
From deep down in my heart,
Is for all good and happy things
Such holidays impart.
I wish you peace, and hope, and love,
And health, and happiness,
Prosperity, and close to you,
The ones you love the best.
My wish for you this Christmas
Is most sincere and true,
And it has a special meaning
Because it's just for you.
And you'll always be remembered
For the friendship that you give,
In all my prayers at Christmastime
And every day that I live.

Glory to God in the highest

As promised!

I want you to meet some friends of mine. First is Deb who is owned by Roo the doxie. Aren't they lovely ladies? You can meet them at Roo's site-dachshund diaries. It is in my links and is well worth the visit!

Next this is Dixie who owns Linda in georgia. Isn't this picture a riot!!??? I tell you Dixie lets her mom get away with a lot! I cracked up laughing when I saw this picture!

Couldn't let Katie-Bug be left out! Napping, as usual. Just like she is doing now behind my chair!

Here is Jack with his finished baby quilt. He was being silly! He said, "Tell them Jack-Roy, not kil-roy, was here!" Whatever!

And yes, I am actually doing some stitching. This is a quick stitch but not if you haven't been feeling well! Long post for me but there it is!

Life!

Peek-a-boo!!! it's little old me again!

This is a blessings from dizyrizzy. I really like it. Hey, I have some updates to share with you but it will be in another post. I am feeling lots better and stitching again. Jack has been a very busy boy too. Hint, hint: he finished the baby quilt! I will get pics on later. Thank you too all my awesome friends on here who wished me well, prayed for me and kept me in their thoughts this last month. It has not been an easy month but I made it. I see the doctor today so think good thoughts!

We don't always know why things happen. Disappointments
and difficulties may never be explained. You may
never fully understand why. No doubt there will be
times in your life you will be left scratching your head
trying to figure out, "Why?"

Letting go when there is no understanding that "why?" is
hard. Our culture places such emphasis on finding answers
but, finding answers isn't everything. Your life should not stop
when you don't understand the events. Instead, you must learn to let
go.

So, get on with your life. Regain your energy and passion. Let
go of the frustration of asking "Why?" and clear the deck for
a brighter future.

Something wonderful is happening to me right now.
It is this thing called life.
Life is in my mind. Life is in my body. Life is in my affairs.
I receive it-I share it-I am it and I accept it.
Just the way that it is and just the way that it is not.
Thank you, life. Amen.

Peggy Bassett

This moment matters very much because it is the culmination of all you have ever been and all you have done. This moment matters very much because it is the starting point for everything you will become.
This moment may seem quite ordinary. And yet in its ordinary appearance is an extraordinary nature. For in this moment you are experiencing the incredible, unmatched wonder of life. It seems ordinary only because you know it so well, and even that adds to its wonder.

This moment has its problems and frustrations, its challenges and disappointments. Yet when you step back and put things in perspective, it becomes clear that the positive possibilities far outweigh even the most negative circumstances.

This moment has brought you more than you've ever had before, and its treasure is here now for you to live. Value this moment for all it is by giving to it all you can be, and truly magnificent things will come from it.

What time of day are you?

I gave it a go and this is what it came up with. Some I agree with, some I am not so sure! But I am almost a hermit.! Michelle

You Are Midnight

You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits.

Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle.

Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it.

You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends.

Lots of fun today!

Here I am! First less have a laugh! This doxiedeer is from an add we got in the mail! Isn't it a riot? I decorated it and cropped it and all and just love it!

And here is our own Katie-Bugdeer. I don't think she was real pleased with us! LOL! Poor mistreated thing. She has it rough here you know.

And as promised my three current projects. I am working on them one at a time. But I have thread pulled for all as well as fabric. They are all from the same issue of Cross Country Stitching. The Feb. 2007 issue to be precise.

Now let me talk to you a minute. I have not read very many of your blogs lately. Sorry about that. I am going to try and do so tomorrow. I miss them! You see my doctor is trying to change my meds. One was causing my blood sugar to act up and might have caused me to become diabetic if I stayed on it. Well, I am having a rough time of it. The first try is not going so good. I am sleeping very little and just generally miserable! I go back Tuesday and we will get it figured out. He is a wonderful doctor and these things just take time. have a great day!

Blessings from Dizzyrizzy

This is very true. A lot of us who are differently-abled have been held back at one time or another. We just want the chance to try! Oh and stay tuned! Photos coming up later today of my new projects. Yep, projects! I have 3 I will be working on!

Love is giving for the world's needs,
Love is sharing as the Spirit leads,
Love is caring when the world cries,
Love is compassion with Christlike eyes. -Brandt

Some say I am disabled,
But you know that isn't true.
I simply have a challenge
A little different from you.

My slight inconvenience has taught me things
They could not know.
Each obstacle is a victory,
Enabling me to grow.

I'm not really any different.
I cry. I laugh.
I don't want to be treated
As if I'm not a person anymore.

Out of good intentions,
People are afraid to let me try.
But sometimes I have to fall,
And sometimes I need to cry.

God gives me the strength and dignity
And the courage to be all I can be.
For He doesn't see me as disabled,
He just sees me as me.

The Greatest Man in History
Jesus had no servants,
yet they called Him Master.
Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him.
He won no military battles,
yet He conquered the world.
He committed no crime,
yet they crucified Him.
He was buried in a tomb,
yet He lives today.
I feel honored to serve
such a Leader who loves us!

A little of everything!

Let's start with a laugh! I love a good laugh. Then a poem for you my friends and finally an update!

HOLIDAY EVENING

Window ledges filled with snow,
Furries dancing in the air,
Christmas shoppers to and fro,
Anticipation everywhere...
In the darkness of the evening,
Alight with shimmering snow,
Windows shine with Christmas trees,
Those magic jewels aglow...
Pretty music in the air,
A tale of song and rhyme,
Happiness is everywhere...
Lovely Christmastime.

James Joseph Huesgen

My pansies are nearly done. So sorry it is a bit blurry but you get the idea. Just have to outline and make the fabric heart. I plan to use red gingham for the heart. What do you think? Will that work with the design?

God bless you all today! My love and prayers go out to you all.

Lovely Missouri weather

First let me apologize for the quality of the pics! That said, what an interestng time the last couple days have been! We got several inches of rain. Then the sleet came. this is a pic of how much sleet. A couple inches. Springfield too the north of us had limbs down and power outages. Jack and I had an interesting trip to the grocery store in Springfield but it had to be done. The store was on generators as the power was out there. i was a nervous wreck by the time we got home!

This is the 4 or 5 inches of snow on top of the sleet. Katie was not thrilled about her walk today. And it is COLD!!! 18 degrees at ten in the morning. Jack took her for her walk yesterday and today. How sweet of him! Today I believe we will stay inside, sew and play games. I don't leave the house very often and yesterday did it for me for awhile!

The letter U

I got this from Meari's blog. She assigned me the letter U. So here are ten things that begin with U and what they mean to me.
1. Uncle-my uncle Don who I loved and miss so much.
2. unicorn-always believe in the magic moments in life.
3. undying-the love for God and my husband
4. Universe-a pretty good place to live! LOL!
5. Unfailing-my belief in the beauty of life.
6. Under-Never letting the bad things in life pull me down.
7. United-my friends and I.
8. undone-me when I get nervous!!! LOL!
9. Unique-everyone is different.
10. Unwrap-the beginning of a bright new day!

Thanks a lot Meari! that was tough but I did it! Anyone want to play? Just comment and I will assign you a letter. Then you do the same as me. Put a word and what it means to you.

Some updates and some fun photos

Look at the beautiful, huge leaf Katie and I found on our walk. I think it is wonderful! Doesn't take much to thrill me!

Look at the progress on Jack's quilt! I just love the cute stars and the angel bear. Had to leave Katie in the pic. Looks like she is praying. The pattern on this quilt is significant for the person it is being made for. She miscarried 3 or 4 little ones before getting pregnant. So the angel bear represent her angels in Heaven. The little bear being held represents her little Johnathan who is due December 31st.

Finally my pansies. I have one more full flower to go and some buds. Also the basket and a butterfly. It is a freebie pattern from Janlynn. it will become a smalls pillow.

Another poem

With the winter weather here and in other parts of the country, I wanted to share another poem. i hope you guys like this one.

To a redbird

I think that I shall never see
A lovelier sight, redbird, than thee.
Your crimson beauty mid the snow
Just fills my heart to overflow.
You glitter just like a jewel most fair
As sunlight strikes you perching there
Upon the bough in silvery tree,
Your picture framed in filigree
By Jack Frost's magical design-
A living painting that is mine.
For one brief moment, then you're gone,
But your beauty lingers on and on.

Beverly J. Anderson

That You indeed are my help, and in the
shadow of Your wings I shout for joy
Psalm 63:8

What I have been up too!

I have been a busy girl! Really I have! LOL! And not just being ornery either! I am making snowflakes to make into ornies. There will be six in total. Two of 3 different kind. then I will make these little felt snowmen. Next a I will make a bow on my bow-dabra. Add in Christmas greenery. Getting the idea? The goofy cat wreath is being remade for next year.

Next thing, here is a project I just finished. It is by mill hill. It called for lots of little flowers but I chose to use hearts and a star. Just cause I could! LOL! It will become a pillow. Then I got a pattern in the mail I had been waiting for from a friend. Isn't it the silliest thing?

I am now working on a basket of pansies. I will show those later. they will be made into a pillow also. Trying to keep myself out of trouble!

Ready for Christmas

Well thanksgiving is over. And as per are custom we decaorated for Christmas this weekend. This is the table cloth Jack made. his first experience with metallic threads. he didn't much like it but a little thread heaven helped. Wonder if that is why he got gray hair?

Here are the snowfolks. Along with my grandmothers church and her people. I treasure these. I am sorry you can't see the handmade snowman my Aunt made me in her last year of life. She had terminal cancer but she was still very active in church and hobbies as long as she could be. I promise to take a pic of my snowman.

Here is our little tree. With it's homemade and given goodies.

My goofy cat wreath. It will be undone and remade for next year. After 11 years with it, I have had enough!

This is the tree skirt I managed to finish. We always put our nativity set under the tree.

And here is poor katie-Bug! I think she barely survived thanksgiving. Poor baby!

Our thanksgiving day

I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful day yesterday. For our little family it was a nice day. Jack made an apple cake and cheesy cresent rolls. I made brocolli casserole and deviled eggs and sweet potato casserole. We both prepared old Mr. Turkey and put him in the electric roaster. Took us all day to so with our health but we did it. Of course we found time to cross stitch, watched a dog show and played a few games on pogo. The weather was so lovely it was awesome! Thank you Lord! We had temps in the 60's so of course Katie took me grasshopper hunting in the wilds of the back yard! LOL! I think all the goings on wore out poor Jack and Katie! Just look at them!

I am so thankful for the little blessings. A husband and dog who love me very much. Lots of friends here in cyperland. Beautiful days, quiet evenings and little walks outside. Hands to stitch with, laughter, the joy I feel at each new day pain or not! It is the small things in life that gives the most pleasure. God has been good to me.
