Dogs On Thursday

The many faces of Katie! Here she is getting ready to get on the back of the chair to watch me in the kitchen!
Relaxing and maxing with her dad!
Being tormented by dad!
Nothing like a nice scratch!
Heaven is a nap in an afghan!
Until next week then!

Bet I can make you smile!

If this doesn't make you smile, nothing will! LOL! Jack put his stocking hat on Katie.

Getting better!

I am much better today although I still run out of energy quick! I will be back later today with some pictures and we will visit! Huggles and love to all and thank you for your prayers and concerns!

just well enough for a short post

Let me start by saying this. Thank God for a loving husband! He cared enough to ask a pharmacist what he recommended for my problem. I would have just gotten what I always get! But the stuff he got had pain reliever and anti-bacterial med in it. It seems to be doing the trick, my fever broke last night and I feel much better although not yet well. Perhaps I won't need the doctor after all!
So anyway here is my hallway. Or at least the best pic I could get of it. It is really dark in there and no light of any kind! What were they thinking? We still need to get paint to do the trim.
Here is Jack working in the kitchen. He always does the high up stuff and I do lower down.
My poor kitchen! LOL! It has needed a lot more repair than we thought it would so that has really slowed things down! The hinges on the cabinet doors are shot and all the drawers need repair.
This is the sleet we got yesterday. This was in the morning and we got about an inch all told. This morning we woke up to a dusting of snow over it. School was canceled yesterday and today and it is very treacherous out there. We are afraid to even try and leave with our driveway being on a hill. So we will stay right here. Sunday they say it will be in the 50's. Gotta love that wacky Missouri weather!
And lastly, Jack's finished towel. Cute! I love it. One more to finish and then he wants to do another wall quilt.
Okay, I am done tuckered. I am gonna read a couple more blogs then go camp on the sofa. thanks for all your well wishes and prayers.

Out of commision for awhile

I am not feeling well enough to read any blogs right now. I have a UTI and feel pretty awful plus with the weather we can't even get out for me to get medicine from the doctor. I do have some over the counter stuff to keep me going until I can see the doctor. See you as soon as I feel a bit better. hopefully, this weekend

Word-filled Wednesday

That says it all! I am not perfect nor am I worthy of His love, yet He loves me so much He gave it all for me just like any good Father! And isn't He the best, far above earthly fathers?

Much awaited pics for ya!

Let me say first off this is NOT snow! It is about an inch of sleet and it was slick! School here was closed for 3 days. I had quite a bit of trouble walking on it when taking Katie out but didn't fall. However, Jack did take a fall when he walked her. Nothing broken or bruised but he was sore1
Here are a couple pics of Jack's wall quilt all finished!
They are adorable and I can not wait until I can hang them up!
Now he is working on a small project. A bird house on some little terry towels. Cute little things!
This gives you an idea of what the bedspread will look like.
Now think of this for a moment. I have to make 12 of these large blocks. Each of them have 36 small blocks in them. Yep, that is a lot of small blocks! LOL!
Now I want to tell you about a website that is pretty neat. See that up there in the corner of my sidebar? The horse isle? It is a wonderful FREE site for you or your kids. I love it! They are very strict on no personal information being exchanged between members and it is monitored! You can not even ask someones age or real name. It is not just about chatting or a mindless game. And so called "chat-speak" is not allowed. Proper english only. You can try to catch a wild horse and you do quests that are as simple as delivering a letter or tougher ones where you have to reason and figure out what to do or find special items. Also there are puzzles and games that involve math, or hand-eye coordination and reasoning. The people I have met so far are friendly and helpful and it is really enjoyable!
So that is it for me! See you soon and have a blessed weekend!

Sunday happenings!

Look at this glorious sunset! The clouds are starting to come in. We are under a winter weather warning for ice and snow tomorrow. Oh joy! Just as long as we don't lose power and no one is injured or killed!
I have made some progress on Ruth this week. Been crocheting also. I rummaged through all my yarn and managed to come up with enough yarn and a good pattern for making a new quilt based bedspread for the bedroom. I will be doing it in a deep red, off white, and an ombre called painted desert. I will post a picture later. Here is where you can see the pattern
THE HAPPY YELLOW HOUSE.
Jack is nearly done with his wall quilt and so that is why no picture right now. I will post one when he finishes up this week.
So that is all that is going on here. The birds and squirrels know weather is coming in I think as they have been on a feeding frenzy today. Stay safe and God bless all!

Dogs On Thursday

We had a lovely day a bit earlier this week with temps in the 70's. Of course we ended up having storms later that night and the next day. But we did spend a lot of time outside and this is poor tired Katie after we came in.
And here is a cute video of her terrorizing her newest toy the same day. What is weird is the fact that on the t.v. music channel Canadian Sunset was playing and just when the song ends.....well you just have to watch the video to find out! LOL!

Our weekend

This was our very stormy looking sky this morning. It never rained much here. We do have a chance though for some storms tomorrow and Tuesday.
I have two rows of my red, white and blue afghan finished. I have nearly enough squares ready to do row three. I needed a break from it so I did a little bit of cross stitching but I feel more like crocheting this week.
I started an afghan to give to charity. Caron provides the yarn, and I make and give it away. I am not sure if I will give it to Newborns In need or another charity. It will be an afghan about 30 by 40 inches. This one you join as you go. I also need to make 3 squares for the quilt raffle for Internet Min Pin Rescue.
Lastly, to answer some questions asked of me. Sorry, I can not remember who asked them. LOL! Someone asked if my stove had a self cleaning oven. No, it doesn't. I thought it did when I looked at it but I was wrong. I seldom have to clean mine anyway so I don't mind. It just doesn't get dirty very much when cooking for two. Next, I was asked how I join my granny squares. I sew them but I use my crochet hook to pull the yarn through rather than a yarn needle. Just works better for me. And thank you for all the loving thoughts and prayers on my sinus issues. I still feel punk much of the time but it has not been a week yet with the antibiotics. So that is all the news for us for this weekend. God bless and keep you and may your week be full of blessings and His mercy!
