Dogs On Thursday

Just one picture again this week. Katie had just been tortured with an ear cleaning and wanted to snuggle afterwards. Jack was happy to oblige her. That is one content, sleepy, happy dog!

Stitching, neighbors and nature

Here are Jack's chickens! He is just really zipping along!
What I am working on now. My Ruth project has gotten to the point where it is just blue and more blue and more blue! i feel like I have used every skein of that color that is in the state of Missouri! LOL! And I will need more before I am done.
While I was outside on this gorgeous day, this little bee was busy with the dandelions!
Here is my Jack and our neighbor Jack and his girlfriend.
See the pretty redbud tree? I just love them!
And we have a couple small patches of Johnny Jump Ups. I want to buy more seed and put them throughout the entire yard. Our home in Springfield MO had tons of these little flowers and wild strawberries too! It was a cheerful thing to see each spring!
So please have a blessed week and know that God loves you and so do I! See you soon!

Stitching and water

I thought you would like to see the curtains I made. I have the same thing in the area of the kitchen where the table sets. I like them because they are so cheerful. I have the red gingham on the kitchen door.
Here is Jack's chickens. Mrs. chicken is done I do believe. I haven't done any cross stitching this past week. You know how that goes sometimes.
We went to Nevada Thursday and one of the many creeks we cross was out of it's banks. No big surprise with all the rain we've had. Before they moved the road a little south and elevated the bridge, it used to flood it quite a bit. I couldn't believe it yesterday when I was walking Katie that it was spitting snow! LOL! What strange weather we are having. I am sure ready for sunshine!

So that is our little visit for Sunday. I hope you are blessed this coming week.

Dogs On Thursday

Just one picture this week. But that look on Katie's face is priceless! LOL! Good thing she can't talk or she might have given Jack a piece of her mind.

Word-filled Wednesday

This is another one done by my friend Nancie. I think we need to be reminded that Christ is with us always. We need not be afraid. May this bless you this week.

Stitching and a little country ride!

My Welcome Guest by Karen Kluba of Rosewood Manor is done! Yippee! What an easy stitch it was too. I so hope our friends will like it. I used beads in place of french knots on the top flowers. Click the pic if you want to see it better.
Jack is working hard on his chickens! It is a lot of cross stitching and outlining for him. But he is really enjoying it!
Our friend Bev came to visit Friday. Katie just fell in love with her and we all took a ride around town to show Bev the sights. I snuck the picture while she and Jack were being silly and trying to look tough and mean! LOL!
Now come take a ride with us! I so wanted to see the country road I lived on in the late 1970's. I had not been down there since right before Jack and I married in 1980. The elderly couple I lived with and cared for are long since gone. So was the house and I didn't want a picture. We start out on Highway 54 heading east.
The high bluffs on the north. We noticed that with all the rain a boulder the size of our little car had slid down and nearly went into the roadway.
A little baptist church that was not far from where I lived. They still have to use outhouses but they do have new ones!
Look hard toward the middle of this picture. This old cabin has nearly fallen in and is about 100 years old. it is across from the church.
What a view! I love hills!
You can see for almost forever!
A small part of Truman lake by Roscoe just north of Highway 82.
A large protected prairie in it's natural state not far from our little town.

I hope you liked the little ride. Thanks for coming along. And thank you to everyone for their concern with the flooding. Jack and I are fine. Our little house is on a hill near the top so while we do get some standing water and a bit of run off we do okay. And the good townsfolks are doing well also. We are a tough lot! LOL! God bless!

Monday storms

Monday morning we had terrible storms. At ten in the morning it was as dark as dusk. The lightening and thunder were terrible. By the time it quit raining around noon, we had had 5 inches of rain. A creek a couple blocks south of us went over the road but that was nothing compared to downtown. I DID NOT TAKE THE PHOTOS.
One of our downtown businesses had water coming out from beneath the windows.
This business was flooded.
Our poor park!
The problem is that downtown is the lowest part in town and the park is the lowest of that. They really need to do something to fix the problem but no one has yet. Maybe this will get them to do something. We even had water pouring down a very steep street next to the pool in such quantities it was running into the pool. So that was how our week started.
There were tornadoes south and east of us with some building damage and power loss but praise God no one was killed. Until next time, God bless.
