A chilly day good for stitching!

I sometimes enjoy applying special effects to my pictures. This time I picked on Sylvia!  She was looking out the front room window.
Here she is fetching a toy she lost.  The drawer is out because it needs some repair.
I found a small amount of fabric at Ehler's in the rummage bin that will be perfect for some new caps!
Here is Jack and Sylvia this morning.  I rather like this picture of the two of them.
Okay, I was saving my best surprise for last!  I finished that pesky page of nearly all black on my wolf.  Now I am well on the way on the 5th of 12 pages.  if you are interested in this pattern he is at this site.  He is on page two but they do have other nice patterns.
I enjoyed my visit with you.  Be blessed and have an awesome week.  Huggles!

Boxes, wolves and kitties

Here is little Miss Sylvia Joy chillin' in her box.  Right now she is abusing her toy mice and fuzzy balls and just having a great time.
We had to move our computer in the living room so Jack can fix the hole in the floor.  Well you know I just had to torment Jack and when he turned around I got this picture.  Poor Jackster!
Lookie, lookie!  I am so close to being done with this section on my wolf and then on to a page with more than two colors!  I can not wait!
Last picture of Sylvia napping on the couch at Jack's feet.
God bless you all and huggles.  If you celebrate Christmas, may it be blessed.

Some progress made on my cross stitching.

I have gotten quite a bit done on my rooster so now I am back on the wolf.
After I took this picture of the wolf, I finished the row of stitching and have started on another section.  I may get this page done one of these days!
I had to share this smilebox of Sylvia Joy learning to play with boxes.  This morning she took a little nap in the bigger one.

Roosters and kitties.

Here is a little reminder from Sylvia this morning!
Major nap attack on the loveseat!
I am taking a day or two to work on Mr. Cock-a-Doodle-Doo as I call him.  All that black on the wolf gets to be a bit old after while!  LOL!
And a parting shot of Sylvia's nap attack.
Sorry it is such a short post.  Be blessed and huggles.

Time for little Friday fun.

It was a chilly day a couple days ago but this fella was still out riding. I don't believe Sylvia has seen a horse before and the look on her face was priceless.
Jack took this picture as she was napping on him.
A good girl always washes after using the litter pan!
Hooray aren't you thrilled to see more black cross stitches?  At least I can mindlessly stitch pretty much!
These pretty little cups are a present from my sweet friend Bren.  It was a very nice surprise to receive a goodie box from her.
She also sent this lovely cross stitch, some flavored coffee and a box of Christmas cards for us to use.
And one last one of Sylvia napping a bit ago.  She nearly fell off the pillow while enjoying her bath.  Yep, a sneeze hit her and she toppled over against the arm of the sofa.  I laughed so hard I was crying!
So be blessed and huggles!  Have an awesome weekend.

Wolves, kitties and a finished bedroom!

I decided to pick on Sylvia tonight as she enjoyed a nap. One time she did what we call the "popeye" at me. Ya know, the look with only one eye open.
Did a little on my wolf after getting my glasses.  I can see so much better now.  I can even see all the colors in the wolf!
Here are pictures of our bedroom now that it is finished.  The wall color is actually a butterscotch caramel color and not yellow as it seems in the first picture.
Here is the sunflower border.  I cut out a few of the bees, butterflies, ladybugs and dragonflies and put them here and there on the walls.
The floor is a natural cherry gloss.  We left some of the imperfections and small holes to give it character.
Sylvia keeping me company while I am at the computer.
She loves her dad!
Being silly putting her mouse under the hutch!  She was a very goofy girl that day!
So that is all for me right now.  God bless and huggles.

Things you may (or may not) wish to know about me.

I was asked how long I have been cross stitching.  When I was ten years old, my counselor taught me how to do counted cross stitch to help me cope with the death of my mother.  I enjoyed cross stitching from day one.  I didn't switch to stamped cross stitch until I was around 20 years old.  Now I am 51 years old and still stitching away!
As a youngster I also wanted to learn to tat as my Grandmother on my Father's side did.  My Uncle modified a tatting shuttle for me to look like my Grandmothers but Grandmother really had no patience to teach me.
I had an Aunt that taught me how to crochet when I was eleven.  She was a very patient, loving teacher which is most likely why I love crochet so much still today.  I have picked up other hobbies along the way to keep my hands and my mind busy.
If you have any other questions you are curious about, please ask.  I will answer them in another post!  God bless and huggles!

Roosters, wolves and kitties too!

Here is Mr. Cock-A-Doodle-Doo! I have not been cross stitching much until I get my new glasses this Friday. Maybe then I can see better to sew.
I caught Sylvia Joy looking at herself in the glass of this picture today.  She does it also with the glass in the dryer door and the glass of the bookcase.  Funny girl!
Here she was enjoying some sun today on a chilly day.  We have been cloudy a lot lately and even had a close brush with a tornado Wednesday.
And a little progress on the wolf.  Not much and it is a boring sheet with only two colors for the whole page!  If you ever want the pattern you can find it here -> Cross Stitch
So that will be it for me today.  We are working away on our bedroom and will soon be done with it and I will share pictures.  I am mighty tired of camping out in the living room!

My mom, roosters, kitties and fun!

We had to pull out and redo the door when a problem developed. The door had racked. come to find out, the wood below it had rotted. See the area just above the blue rug? That was the problem spot.  Here Jack has a new piece going in.
Saw this cute display yesterday whilst in Nevada MO.
This little kitten was hiding beneath the shed.  He is sick poor thing so we will try to trap him so he can be cared for.
This is my mom.  She was born November 18, 1934 in Cedar Springs, Mo not to far east of where we live.  She died March 26, 1969 a couple days after giving birth to a stillborn son.  I was only 9 at the time.  I thought you would like to meet her.
Here is my rooster.  I decided he needed a head so he at least looked like a rooster!  LOL!
And here is Jack working away Monday on the door.  It took lots longer than we planned and Jack is still hurting from it.  I am not hurting anymore but I sure am glad it's done!
So there is my little post for you.  I enjoyed the visit.  Be blessed and huggles.

Stitching and kitties oh my!

Okay and even more than kitties and stitching! First I would like to introduce you to Missy. She is about a year old and has been in foster care since June. She has a wonderful personality they tell me and is happy and sweet. Hopefully, when we meet her on Thursday, she will come home with us. So whisper a little prayer if you would.
I keep asking Jack if this looks like a rooster yet and he says "no".  Imagine that!  LOL!
When we were in Nevada Mo the other day, May's floral had this in their window.  Looks like Jack and I don't you think?  Minus the beard on the guy!  LOL!
Jack is responsible for picking out this food bowl for our new kitty.  I like it though.
Met this sweet little guy in Nevada.  He gave me kisses and his tail was wagging to beat the band!
This WAS our maple tree last week.  Now with all the wind we have had and chilly temps, it is nearly bare.
Some trees over in Nevada.  Very pretty.  Many trees around here have dropped their leaves but there are still plenty of pretty ones around.
Kitty toys!  I just thought they looked neat all piled up!
So thanks for visiting with me today.  I hope you are blessed today and always.  huggles.
