Good to be back!

Well we are back online and have been for about a week.  We finally finished up the last of the move last Saturday.  We had to take a three day break because we were both in so much pain, moved one load and had to take another two day rest.  Two loads Saturday and we were done.  Wednesday and Thursday both we hauled two loads and by Thursday I was already feeling not so well.  I thought I had tied everything up really good but as I was approaching highway speeds, I saw the hutch to my china cupboard go sailing into the inside lane of traffic.  Jack wouldn't let me retrieve it and he went instead.  A wonderful man in a tractor trailer held traffic for him.  Thankfully no cars were hit or people hurt.  We were able to retie it and made it here with out any other trouble.  For going nearly 50 mile an hour the damage is minor and Jack can repair it.  Yet another reason I like buying older, used, solid wood when I can!

Sylvia is very happy in her new home!  The shrubs in front of the window makes her feel safe and secure!  Important for a shy kitty.
Oh and yes, I did get some done on my Cardinals!
I wanted to share a picture of a sweet little angel sent to me by a friend I met thru my blog.  It is made from a teatowel and pot holder!  She is such a cute thing!
And a final picture of our girl!

  1. So glad you all made it safe to your new home (despite the small mishap on the road). I hope you will be very happy there - sounds like Sylvia has settled in already :o)

We get the keys to our new place tomorrow and will be moving over the next week. I'll be glad when it's over! xx

  2. Glad you are in OK, and cats are settling, moving house is a hard time for every one.

Wow! I love the way the cardinals just kind of pop out of the picture! They are beautiful! So glad you were able to rescue your hutch.

  4. Welcome back, we missed you, and glad the move is over and you can now get settled in your new home.

  5. Nice to read you again! Sorry to hear the move was quite eventful! Lovely huge beautiful progress on your stitching!! x

  6. We are so glad to see you safe and settled! We prayed for you when we heard of the tornadoes. It seems HRC Sylvia is unaffected by it all.

When we get dings in the furniture we say it has a story to tell. Now your hutch has not a just a story but a legend!

Fine progress you are making on the cardinals and that is amazing you have the time to do it with the move~ God bless you three!

  7. Glad you are all safe and sound in your new home. Scary about the hutch -- yikes! Sylvia looks happy! And the cardinals are beautiful!

Glad the move went well (except for the hutch), nice to have you back on-line. I missed seeing your posts and Sylvia. Cardinals are lovely and the angel is really cute.

  9. I hope you will be happy in your new place. Moving is so difficult but I like changes. Sylvia looks so content. I hope a lot of birds visit her in those shrubs. :) The angel is nice...it will look good in a kitchen. Sure glad no one got hurt when you lost your hutch and I am surprised it did not shatter... nice solid wood:)

  10. I'm glad your move is completed! I can't imagine moving!!! Thats good you were able to get your hutch top back after it got loose. That must have been an awlful few moments. Your cardinal is beautiful...

Thank you for your comments. They mean the world to me. I will certainly try and answer you if you have a question. God bless and keep you.
