Cross Stitching? Yes, indeed!!!!

At last the tearing out is done on the Names of Jesus piece and it didn't even take me a year!  Ha, ha!!!!  So without further ado, here it is.

And I want to share a little doily with you.  It has a little crocus flower and I plan to make 5 for a apay it forward thing I agreed to on facebook.  I plan on koolaid staining the flowers in different bright colors so stay tuned!
Caught my hubby and Sylvia good the other night!  Jack was on the floor trying to ease his legs and Sylvia was napping away on her towel.  It was to good to resist!
Thanks for visiting!  Blessings and huggles.

Wednesday Pattern and tutorial day

Well let's see what I have found interesting for you on the first day of doing this.  Here is an interesting crochet stitch that has been around for a bit.  It is a more advanced technique.

Cross stitch anyone?

Well I wanted to cross stitch on my Names of Jesus project but....
All of these lower names have to be torn out!  King of Glory is to the left to far which thru off everything below and to the left of it.  Sigh!!!!  So I will be tearing out for the next year!  LOL!

Jack has been able to do some cross stitching.  He can't do as much as he used to because of his legs keeping him in pain, but when he can, he really goes for it!
Now for the doily parade!  A 3 day migrane made it slow and sometimes no go but a couple are near finished!  The pink one is a gift for someone.

Now onto Sylvia!  She has decided napping on the back of the sofa is fun!
Begging for tummy rubs from dad is fun too!
Thanks for the visit.  I hope to start something new once a week on Wednesdays.  Finding interesting crochet and cross stitch patterns.  Huggles and blessings.

A bear on a cloud?

Yes it is!  jack is working on a baby quilt topper and it is so cute!
The pink doily is a pay it forward piece for someone.  I will be giving 5 doilies out to people who were the first 5 to respond to a blog post.  It will be fun popping off a doily to someone in the next year!
And I have been working very hard on the pinwheel doily.  It is getting there but  plenty yet to do.
I found a purpose for the hearts.  The big one symbolizes the husband and wife and the small one the baby that is on the way.  Sadly, the father was shot in the head in early December by people burglarizing their home.  He died 2 and a half weeks later.
Let's end this post on a happier note.  Sylvia in all her glory!

Blessings and huggles.

Doilies, hearts, kitties and the moon!

Well, good day!  I thought I would show pictures of all the doilies I have going now.  Some have a little more done on them others a little and some are nearly finished.  So without further ado:

I have been working on more hoots as we call the owls but no pictures right now.  And I have been playing with an easy heart pattern I go here:Hearts  I made some in yarn and then decided to try some in crochet thread.  That made a tiny, cute heart!

Last night the moon rose before dark and I got this picture and added a bit of scripture.
And now here is our girl!  The first picture was the look I got after I quit rubbing that tummy.
The rest explain themselves!

Thanks for visiting.  Huggles and blessings.

Crochet, snow and such

Hello all!  let's start off with a couple pics of our latest ice/snow event.  As many of you we have been pretty frigid around here.  Been raining today but if it cools off any more it will freeze. You can't even see the mountain in the first picture which is usually very easy to see.

I finally found the perfect little toy to make and give to kids when I am out.  I eliminated the stuffing as well and these are simple and fast to make so it will do fine.  Here is my first one to test out the pattern.
You can find the free pattern/tutorial here:Hoot Owl
I have put down the current doilies I have been working on because they have given me so much grief I needed a break from it.  In their place, I am working on these. The first is a pinwheel and will take a bit to finish with 78 rows although it is not overly huge.  It's just that it is mostly single crochet which is pretty small.
The second is a floral pattern to use the shaded yellow on after my boo boo trying to do a filet pattern with it.
Sorry but sylvia has not felt generous on being photographed of late.  She has been in hibernate mode upstairs in my chair or elsewhere with the extra cold weather out there!  So blessings and huggles until next time!

The Finish Show!

I thought I would show only finished doilies this post.  And I will also tell you my attempt to do fillet crochet in a shaded or variegated thread was a big fail.  I was hoping it would just add some interest but it just muddled the design, so I tore it up and started another doily with the shaded yellow. Anyway, onto the finish show!

I really like the little doily done in parakeet blue.
The largest here is called Splendor on the tabletop or something to that effect.
I love a layered look in doilies.  What I mean is perhaps fans in the background and maybe layers of stars.
I thought you might enjoy seeing my vintage books!  all but one was a present from a friend.  They are from the thirties, forties and fifties.
And now of course we must have Sylvia!  Caught her in mid roll in the first and Jack caught her napping in my chair upstairs!
I will leave you with a sunset picture!
Blessings and huggles.
