Highway 51 which runs through Coweta had to be shut down for a time on both ends of town. I had to drive to Tulsa, right in the middle of this a 2 p.m. to pick up my grandson from school and go through just before they closer down the highway!!! MANY in Coweta were flooded and The Red Cross set up temporary shelter in our Church for those. We were, and are, blessed that we had no damage. Glad to hear you two are safe and sound, too.
SusanSusanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11360047123820906113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32198272.post-4257513780106045212008-04-05T00:08:00.000-05:002008-04-05T00:08:00.000-05:00Goodness! I grew up in Nebraska and our local creek jumped its banks several times. Luckily the people that built our house graded the yard in such a manner that even at its highest crest, the water was an inch from our front porch. (My parents had planned to take all the dips and mounds out of the yard until they discovered its purpose.) Believe it or not, water never got in the basement, it was dry as a boneand it was a dirt cellar. I spent two days picking up all the cut firewood that my neighbor had stacked along his alley. It had floated down to the baseball fields and a lot of it was stuck along the fence line and in the bleachers.

I'm just glad to hear that no one was hurt.Netterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01380664692412012098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32198272.post-28407020973956059512008-04-04T23:54:00.000-05:002008-04-04T23:54:00.000-05:00Wow thats a lot of water.
