All though we werent Amish or out of their religion we did live a very simple life. My Grandmother raised 7 large garden spots and we canned the food, that is how we survived the winter months. Speaking of pain, I hope yours goes away soon! I was sick last week and was in bed for 36 hours and my back hurt so badly when I got up that I could hardly walk. I don't know what I'd do if I had to stay in bed for extended periods of time.
