Cross Stitching Away!

Some progress on the red and white piece but I need a break from it.
I picked up this and started it last night.  It is by Karen Kluba of Rosewood Manor called Four Seasons Sampler.
I had a little help when I went to pull the colors.
Sitting with me giving me a sleepy look!

Busy, busy me!

Well, not much progress on my cross stitch.  Just a tiny bit.
However I have done better on the blanket.  Well, until I ran out of both pinks!  I will get more next week at paytime.
The doily train is rolling again!  These are all done and one is on the hook and nearly done!
And the poncho is looking very good!  Only the front and back pieces to go now!
Some work has also been done on the rug for Jack's side of the bed.
We had a very beautiful sunset the other night.  The sky seemed almost on fire!

The little neighbor kitty came to visit and be silly!
Her kitty sibling was busy with a big ole nap!
And Sylvia?  Well, she is just Sylvia!

Crochet, cross stich and knitting boards

Jack and I kept busy today.  I worked a little more on the daisies for the afghan and picked up an old cross stitch piece I had forgotten about.  Jack is busy with his knitting board making the second of two baby blankets.

Did you see the lovely moon and planets last night?  If not, here they are!

And I can not leave you without pictures of Sylvia Joy!
 Daydreaming out the window.
Watching us work around the house.

Am I late or early?

Hello!  It has been really hot here this week.  Of course it had to have a heat index of 102 yesterday on my birthday when we were out and about.  I was hoping this would make me think of fall and cooler weather.  it didn't help!
Saw goats and horses too.  They are not far from us.

We went to a resale shop for some end tables that matched.  Instead we went with these pieces that need a little love.  They were only 17 dollars a piece.
This one will end up displaying my few tea cups.
In the crochet department I am working on a rug for Jack's side of the bed.
Today I got on a good roll and made this big pile of daisy squares for the blanket I am working on for a friend.
Where is Sylvia?
All that playing wears a kitty out!

Visits, blessings and storms

Yes it was a mixed bag this week.  First the crochet.  I have all 144 of the yellow centers done and now I am working on the white.  Sure looks like a lot to do in the bag!
Wednesday some friends came over with their newest sweet little baby and her big sister.
Abigail sitting with daddy!
Jack looks so pleased to be holding little Jamina!
Our dear friends also brought a blessing of yarn for us.  I gave this to Jack.
And this was divided between myself and another person.
Here is the poor hobby room.  It is a sad mess!

However, a four cube and an eight cube shelf will certainly help! There is hope for that room yet.
I also found the time to make fridge pickles for Jack.  It really is easy.  Just peel and slice an onion and place in the bottom of a 2 quart jar and then peel and slice about 4-6 cucumbers and place on top.  Now mix together seperately a teaspoon of celery seed, 1 cup stevia or sugar, and one cup cider vinegar.  Stir until the stevia or sugar is dissolved and pour into the jar.  Top off the jar with water and tip upside down a few times to mix with the vinegar solution.  Can be eaten in a few hours but is better after 2 or 3 days and will last a long time without spoiling.
We had some nasty storms Thursday night and a tornado in Gentry about 30 miles from us.  Here are some interesting clouds.

But we were blessed with a pretty sunset.
Here is our Sylvia girl!
