What If?

This was written by my dear friend Ma. I hope it will bless you! She is a dear lady in Oklahoma and writes just the way she spells!

What if taday was the very day
That would change yer life forever
What ifin it ment you'd have ta live
With a feelin that would always hinder
What ifin each day brought sadness and gloom
No matter how hard you'd try
What ifin your days were long and lonely
Ya were mad ,there was no kiss good-bye
What ifin at home the sounds of laughter
Were gone and cries were heard
What ifin the children did not understand
The changes that just occurred
What ifin taday was the very last day
His voice ya would ever hear
What ifin ya couldnt say the words
"Untill the end I was there"
Is it worth it ta live yer life
With pain that wont go away
Or can ya say Im glad we made up
There will be no What Ifs ta say.

This, that and the other!

Here is the progress on my heart. I have been working hard on him this week and am really close to finishing it.
This is a project I started on tonight. The fabric doesn't show up well but it is a blue-violet aida made by DMC. My friend Mary B. gave me the pattern! Thank you Mary and I am finally cross stitching it! LOL!
I want to share a fabric dye recipe for all you cross stitchers.

Fabric Dye With Kool Aid
2 packages of kool aid
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup white vinegar
Heat water until hot but not boiling. Remove from heat, add kool aid and stir until dissolved. Add vinegar. Place fabric in mixture and soak 15 minutes. Rinse, soak another 15 minutes, rinse and iron dry.

Thought you would like to see a picture of our church. This is where my cousin Brent preaches and was once the Lutheran church before they disbanded. It is a gorgeous old building with stain glass windows and a gorgeous wooden ceiling inside.

Here is a little slide show of my favorite store here in town called Ehler's variety. They have a little bit of everything! David and Kathy are the owner's children and actually pretty much run the store. I am afraid the picture of Kathy didn't come out to clear. Sorry.

Word-filled Wednesday

This verse just reached out to me this week when I was looking for scripture. Something just kept telling me Isaiah, look in Isaiah. So this scripture jumped out at me. Please feel free to join us for Word-filled Wednesday. Visit Amy-Deanne to learn more!

Happy Saturday!

I wanted to share some things I thought you might enjoy. At least I hope you do! This is Jack when he was in first grade! I think he was just the cutest little boy. Look at that smile. Can you believe this was in 1959?
Here is my older half-brother Steve standing, my younger brother Mike and yes that is me! Can't forget to mention the rabbit who was named Mr. French. Why ever we named him that I don't know. This was taken at my uncles house in 1969 in Baldwin Park California not long after mom passed away so that is why my older brother looks so unhappy. He and mom had an argument the day she passed away and he blamed himself for years for her death.
Here is my mom and dad on their wedding day in 1957. I wish it were a better picture but aren't they adorable? I will share some other photos later on I promise.
Now on to stitching. This silly afghan still doesn't show up as purple, pink and white even after I tried to edit it. But take my word for it that really is the colors!
Here is one of the first projects I did after Jack and I got married. It is starting to show it's age a bit but I don't care! If you look close, you will discover my nickname!
And couldn't go without some funny pics of Katie. This is what I saw from my spot on the sofa! Just feet in the air!
Caught her napping in the den while Jack was on the computer.

So there it is! Have a great and blessed Sunday and I will see you next week.

Stitching and Katie

I pulled out a needlepoint canvas Monday. It was one I bought for a couple dollars when Hobby Lobby was getting rid of a lot of their needlework. I am using 6 strands of DMC floss on it. Gotta finish the pail, the border and the background. Plus I ran out of one shade of green for the leaves. Sot there ya have it.
A little progress on my heart. That metallic floss gets to me after awhile so I put it down for a bit.
Look how Katie decided to eat her doggie cookies. Stood up on the chair and was munching away! Sometimes she is so lazy she eats them while she is laying down!
Needed a nap after that snack! I think she is winking and sending love to everyone!

I've been awarded and blessed!

Tammy has so honored me and I feel so blessed by it! She gave me this lovely award! Tammy is a sweet and special person! Pop by and visit her blog and I know you will enjoy it! Twice this week ladies I think of as friends have done wonderful things for me! Connie picked a bunch of us and her husband Jim carved our names in wood. It is really awesome. You really need to visit Connie's blog if you haven't already! What wonderful posts she writes and what a sweet lady! Now I have to pick 8 people and do something fun with their names. Been thinking about it and think I have come up with a way to do it now I just have to figure out who to do it for! LOL! So watch out, it may be you! Hee, hee! Thank you two for your love and friendship! And thanks to all of the folks I visit on here and who visit me. You are my family by choice and each of you are special to me. I enjoy sharing my humble life with you and I love being allowed to be a part of yours! Now be watching later today! The blogiversary post will be going up and you can see some of what you could recieve!

Word-filled Wednesday

This is a bit hard to see. It is a photo of my calendar. If you click on the photo it will be easier to see. I really liked the picture and the verse. In case you can't read the verse it says: But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning.~Psalm 59:16

Surprise! Lillies that is!

We had some surprise lillies pop up this week. I just love them and am glad to have them. We are going to relocate them this fall to the flowerbed though.
Found this cute little garden stake for two dollars on clearance at our local Pamida department store. I couldn't resist it! I put it in the small flower bed next to the porch.
Found two sprays of silk flowers at wal mart for 97 cents a piece. Perfect to finish off this little basket! I cut them all apart and this is what I came up with!
And now the stitching. Got a little bit done on my heart. It's hard to see the green floss against the green fabric but I like the tone on tone look very much! And my house is halfway finished on my sampler project. I am at a stand still on Middie until I get the beads and Krenik threads I lost. I am going to pull another project to take it's place for now. So there ya go. That is what we have been up to since Friday. Oh, and Jack is off the crutches and doing so much better! thanks for all the well wishes and concern and prayers!

Happy, toasty Thursday!

here is Katie taking care of her patient. Poor Jack! He looked so tired and so miserable! Thank you to everyone who was concerned over him. I am happy to report that today he is feeling some better. not quite as much swelling and a bit less pain.
Look at the surprise I got in the mail from my friend Barbara in Germany. I just really didn't expect anything. It is for my birthday which was the 15th of July. She gave me some lovely floss, a crystal in a cute angel bag, wonderful smelling soaps and made the gorgeous card! Of all weeks this is one that I really needed a blessing like that!
Now a question for you guys! What in the name of pete is this thing? I really and truly don't have a clue! It was left in the house when we rented it. The landlords asked us what it is and I have no idea! I know it has a chain to hang it up with and although the top looks removable, it isn't! It is kinda pretty though and I think I will keep it.
