Putting the cardinals away...for now.

I really, really need a break from the cardinals.  I try to pick it up and do little or nothing.  So I started my "Names of Jesus" project for a change of pace.  Normally I would do it in 3 or 4 colors but this time I am using a different green for every name.  I like it thus far.

And I have been working away on Jack's afghan.  I got tired of going one motif at a time.  So I do the first color on a good number of them and then do the second color and attach them.  I am half way done now.

Nothing much else to show you as I have also been sewing and making dresses.  Or should I say preparing to make them.  I am using left over fabric and then I will buy a solid color for sleeves or sleeves and bodice or for skirt, depending on what I need.

Now for Miss Sylvia Joy snooping in a cupboard and just chillin'.

Thanks for visiting.  Blessings and huggles.

Rainy day stitching and fun

We had a wonderful, rainy and cool day yesterday.  I think the bush outside the window enjoyed it as well.  I stepped out on the porch to get this picture of it and the coolness was most welcome.

I have decided that doing one motif at a time on Jack's afghan is not how I want to do it.  It seems to slow so I am doing several in the first color and then doing and attaching with the second.

And the cardinals are coming along.  Not fast enough to make me happy and I am also starting to get bored with working on them.  Makes me not work so fast I think.

I want to do another "Names of Jesus" from my friend's website.  It is a free chart and you can find it HERE  Just sign up for the newsletter and there ya go!

Sylvia seemed to have a silly streak going yesterday and here is the proof.

Birdie feet and branches

I have been working on the Cardinals again and when Sylvia is napping I sneak a little work in on Jack's afghan too!  It's far to hot to be outside so might as well keep busy in here.

The moon was so pretty the night before, I had to take a couple pictures.  I sort of got my camera to cooperate!

And of course here is our girl keeping cool while looking cool (at least she thinks)  LOL!  The other night even with Jack's hearing loss, he could here her thundering all over the place upstairs.  Then she flew down the stairs, zoomed around the corner and to the kitchen so fast, he didn't realize she had went past him at the dining table.  Silly cat!  She scared herself playing with the lazer light today.  She bumped her stuff dog and when it hit her leg she cleared the floor by about 3 feet.  I about fell off the couch laughing and dog got a dirty look!
I have had a couple questions on the angels.  One was on how long it takes to make them and the answer is not very long at all.  They are done all in one piece and take just about 5 minutes at most.  And someone asked what I was doing with them.  Well, they are all going to one person who gives them to people needing a little lift in life.

So much going on here!

My birthday was this past Monday so today we went out for lunch at our favorite place, went to hobby lobby and on to wal mart since I forgot laundry soap and then we had a blizzard for a little treat.  We are both bushed now but it was fun.  Lots of crafting going on to.
We ate at a place called The Wooden Spoon in Gentry AR.  The building is an 1800's horse barn lovingly disassembled and reassembled and turned into a restaurant.  Today we had grilled burgers with bacon and cheese, potato salad and peach tea.  I could not finish mine at all!

Love the front porch here and all the flowers and such.

We were blessed with off and on rain all afternoon.  It was really good to see too!

I pulled up to the mailbox for Jack to get the mail and thought I would show you the mountains south of us.

These are the mountains to the east of us from the hobby room.  I think I spent more time daydreaming then working on the angels!

Here are the angels I have been working on.  They are ready to be sent off to their home!

The Cardinals got plenty of work done on them and today I am now working on the lower part of the chart.  Jack's afghan had the third row finished and three or four squares of the fourth row added as well.

I wanted you to see the progress on the hobby room.  I BIG change for sure!

Sylvia Joy got a couple new toys today!  Spoiled thing!

I forgot to take pictures, but Jack bought a model of the ship Arizona that was lost in WWII and I got some yarn on clearance for a little over a dollar that was normally almost four dollars.  A good day but we are beat!  Blessings and huggles.

A little of everything!

It has taken over a month, but finally the townhouse is looking like home!  Still a little work to be done here and there but all in all we are pleased!

I have been working on Jack's afghan.  I started it last year and then snowflake and angel orders and baby afghans got in the way!  I have told him I will have it for him this winter.  He has to spend a good deal of time on the floor trying to ease his painful legs and back.

And the cardinals are coming along!  I have been doing a lot of outlining and am taking a bit of a respite from them.

And here is our Miss Sylvia Joy giving me the once over and playing with her crinkle ball.  And kitty toes behind the table leaf!

In the good old summer time!

Been crocheting and cross stitching.  I am really wanting to get the Cardinals piece done and move on to something else.  I redid the french knots above Mr. Cardinals head.  Jack and I both agreed they were to big.  I am very close to getting the upper portion done.  I do have a narrow stip on the right to do as well after all else is done.

What do you think of my little tomato?  I found the pattern on Ravelry and have a great idea for tie backs for my kitchen so stay tuned!

And here is her majestic Sylvia or HRC Sylvia as a blogging friend calls her.  That stands for Her Royal Catness!  LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping in.  Huggles and blessings.

Tiny post!

Not much to show but here it is!  I had to fix a boo-boo but still got some done.  I am trying to finish up an order of angels, so I have been dividing up my time.
And here is a very sleepy Sylvia after I got up to get on the computer.

I will share some pictures of a couple rooms here at the new place.  It has been slow going getting unpacked and settled.  Our bedroom is finished.  We took the smaller back room for quiet, no morning sun and we love a cozy room!

The den is not finished yet.  Jack had to repair my sewing desk.  It needs replaced but I am not ready to say good bye to it yet.  I love waterfall style of furniture and letting go of a piece is like losing a chunk of me!  LOL!
