Flowers and stitching too!

We had some bulbs come up along the driveway and they started blooming this past week. It is good to see and the trees are leafing out too. Yippee! it hit 75 degrees today and was most pleasant.
Here is Jack's quilt progress. It is quite a bit of work but is looking good.
I am doing this for some friends of ours. I wish the sparklies in the fabric showed up.
And my Ruth project is coming along too.

Here is a video of a song I just love! I just cry and praise the Lord when I hear it. of course I have to sing along!

Dogs On Thursday

This picture was just to good to pass up! Katie just sits there on that toy hamburger like nothing!
I want you to meet Bubba Joe. He was our pride and joy. He had digestive issues and most of his tail was missing but he was such a loving, happy boy.
Everyone was Bubba's friend including all other animals. He loved to visit the folks in the small assisted living facility I worked at.
We called him batdog when he did his ears like that. Portrait done from a photo by Larry Merrill. Bubba had to be put to sleep at the tender age of 6 and a half years in March 2004 due to liver failure. It nearly broke our hearts and we still have his ashes with us.
This is Mr. Max the big red doxie. We adopted him at age 13 in July of 2005 and he made the long trip from North Carolina to Missouri to come live with us. Sadly, at age 14 in March of 2006 he passed away.
As a last note. Junior is no longer living with us. it was hard to give him up but he needed a lot more excercise and play than two differently-abled folks could give him. Happily, he is living with two young girls whose dog passed away. He has another dog to play with and an active family to keep him busy.

Word-filled Wednesday

This is from my friend Nancie who is such a blessing to me in many ways. Please do visit her. She takes lovely photos and this is one of hers and she is the one who did the scripture and wording also. She was very gracious to let me use it.

The tomb is empty!

The cross is empty and so now is the tomb! Christ is risen and death is defeated. He lives forever more! Praise Him forever and ever for all He has done!

Easter Blessings

I want to share something with you on this Good Friday and beginning of the Easter celebration. I got it from my friend Deby and cried through the whole thing. Of course those who really know me would tell you I cry through a lot of songs even in church when the Spirit is upon me. May this bless you as it did me.

Word-filled Wednesday

Have a blessed Easter and remember that Jesus died for our sins and wrongs so that we don't have to. We can have eternal life and hope through Him by accepting the free gift of salvation. That is what Easter is all about and not the candy and easter egg hunts.

Good day all!

Here is Jack's chickens. I think he will be tired of all the browns and gold by the time he is done with it!

Here is a real finish! I had cross stitched these chickens some time ago so yesterday I sat down and finished them up by adding fabric on the back and all around. Next cute buttons and ribbon for hanging. They will go over my back door in the kitchen. Now I am starting on new kitchen curtains with my apple fabric and the same fabric I used on the chickens.
Some progress on Ruth too. I am going to have to buy some more of the dark blue though. I go through it fast as you use 3 strands for better coverage with it.
I caught everyone snoozing yesterday! Couldn't resist snapping a picture!

So God bless you all and I will see you soon!

You survey your kingdom.
Take a little power nap.

Then wish you were out when you are in!

Word-filled Wednesday

I just had to use this picture with this scripture! Being cheerful and laughing is a very good thing. It can ease a hurt, lighten a mood and bring plenty of joy! I do believe God intended for us to laugh and enjoy life.

Finally! We have pictures!

Aren't these glasses cute? I found them for a dollar a piece at Dollar General. They are the heavier melamine plastic. We like to use plastic glasses for every day rather than the breakable ones. The plastic ones I bought in 2005 are about shot and half of them are no longer with us. LOL!
Here is my progress on Ruth. I am nearly done with the sky and grass and will soon be down to only the dark blue to work on.
Jack's chicken quilt is coming along very well. The box the hen is sitting on is nearly done!
This is a mural in Nevada MO where we shop a lot and I lived when I was in high school. it is a short 15 minute drive for us. This shows when the area was settled and then the burning of the town during the civil war. Best as I remember, most of the town was destroyed.
With Nevada being only about 20 miles from Kansas and both states differing on slavery, it was a pretty violent time with a lot of murders, burnings and raids.
So that is your history lesson for this week! LOL! See ya soon!

Can't post pics

Well I wanted to share with you all today but blogger is being hateful! Without pictures it just wouldn't be the same so I will try later.

Dogs On Thursday

Yes, there is a Katie under there! LOL!
Not that camera AGAIN!
Meet Junior! he has been with us just about a week. All of 2 years old and what a character! He sure makes things interesting around here. I had my bread machine out to use and he decided the cabinet was a good place to be. We still need to finish painting the doors and get them back on.
Nothing like good snuggle time!
Junior settling in for a nap.
Upside down!
More napping!
So that is our week! See you next Thursday.

Happy, blessed Sunday

Here is Jack's latest project. His last wall hanging.
This is what it will look like when finished. I love my chickens!
My progress on my Quaker sampler. I finished the house except for a stitch I missed and now am working around the house.
And meet Junior. The newest member of our little family, he is two years old and we are his third home poor little begger! He is quite the clown and so sweet and loving and busy! Katie has adjusted very well to her new brother and keeps him in line when needed.
Well, last week the robins returned here in Missouri. So good to see them again and hear their singing. The weather was beautiful the last two days even though it was windy and I enjoyed seeing the robins roaming about looking for worms. What a difference tomorrow will be with a 40 degree drop in temperature and some nasty weather coming in! Love that Missouri weather but what bad timing as Monday is our errand day. Oh well, God will keep us safe and we will quickly be home! God keep you all until next we meet! Oh and please pray for my friend Suz. She just lost her Grandpa and a word or two of encouragement would mean so much to her I know!
