We need help!

We are facing a very bad situation in November. Last year our rent went up 45 dollars to nearly eight hundred dollars a month. Yesterday we were notified it will go up 124 dollars more when our lease renews! That  is nearly 900 dollars a month. It will take all my check and some of Jack's  leaving us hard pressed to pay the electric bill and the three medicines we pay for let alone groceries and gas. We are trying to get a smaller place in a smaller town that will run us under six hundred a month. I know times are hard for us all but if you can help, bless you! Below is the link if you can help in any way!

Are there any income based apartments near your area?

Michelle is this you? This seems out of the ordinary and Im'm not sure if someone has hacked your account or not. I'm taking a break from Instagram so I won't be checking to see if you posted there or not. Please reply ASAP!

Hi Michelle,
You might check on senior housing that is income based. You'll need to get on a list now. I know there are some places in Carthage that are in safe places. I'm not sure about Joplin.
Your friend,
Laura Lane

We don't qualify for any assistance but thanks for thinking of us. We will most likely have to move out of Joplin.

Rent all over the country is exorbitant. Have an MS friend who just moved to San Antonio paying for semi-assisted living, one-bedroom apartment at $2,450 a month, with a "studio" at $1,950! Amazing Grace. Are you sure seeing you are both disabled that you could not get some kind of assistance? Have you checked with your church? Was Jack in the military - VA assistance? Section 8 I believe is countrywide? For medicine discounts - GoodRx, AARP discount card, Clutch (clutchhealth/card). As I think of other assistance, will advise. Good luck and, with God's help, you still have some time. In lieu of the GoFundMe, I may send something.

We don't qualify for any assistance. A few friends have helped so we may make it. Found a nice place in the town my father lived in for under six hundred. Hugs my friend.

I am so sorry to hear this. Things have gotten so out of hand. I would that everyone could find a small piece of land with a house and become self sufficient. Landlords tend to take advantage of people. Maybe this is Gods way of saying its time to move on. Maybe he has something better for you somewhere else. I agree with some of the ideas for saving money. If he is a military vet check into any assistance. Medicare may have some assistance. AARP, prescription discount cards, coupons, garden, grocery shopping at a bent and dent store, shop sales ads and meal plan from those groceries, maybe crochet some things to sell, declutter and see what you can sell, find ways to save on electric bill, unplug anything that is not being used at that moment like a toaster, toaster oven, lamps, coffee pots, etc. Only plug them in as you use them. Some things still run a currency of electricity just by being plugged into the outlet. When running errands try to do them all in the same day and run them in order of what building comes first. I've learned making two or three small trips to town during a week uses more gas than one time to run errands. If you grocery shop to or three times a week, taxes are more for some reason. One trip, one tax transaction. Always keep maintenance on vehicle current, proper maintenance can prevent break downs. Buy some beans in bulk and can them if you do any canning. Stock up on rice etc. Bake bread and freeze. This is all ideas that have helped us save money in areas that we were wasting money that we didn't know. I hope some of these ideas help.

Just do not understand why you cannot get ANY ASSISTANCE whatsoever? Just doesn't seem possible, let alone real.

Found some things to look into, especially the rental/move assistance. If you haven't looked or found, take a gander at these:
