Just A Short Post!

I am getting very close to finishing the large order of 3 dozen snowmen. 3 more bodies to crochet then 18 to do faces and hats and scarves. Then a couple small orders to finish. I have had about enough of that for awhile! LOL! I am also doing angels for a friend and hearts for another.

While doing our grocery shopping, I saw this interesting cotton yarn on the cheap. I was very curious to see what it would look like worked up so I brought it home! I rather think it is interesting and it will be a trivet for hot things in the kitchen.
I also found these cute cups on the cheap and had to have them!
Also this past week we found this curbside for trash pick up. It was a mirror but will be freshened up and a large cross stitch piece will go there.
We had a lovely moon with one of the planets this past week. This month's full moon will be a super moon!
And a lovely sunset as well.
Here now is Sylvia. She was upset I was not paying enough attention to her, so she threw herself down on the rug!
Then here she is just being her usual self!

Just a fun little post!

First let me show you the lovely full moon that greeted us Monday morning. That blip in front of it is a bird flying past.
And I think this is a very cute building. It is a pediactric facility here in town.

I took a break long enough to stencil angels on my little cabinet. And I repainted the top of the coffee table. The white just didn't do it for me for some reason. I found a 50 cent bottle of cream with a tinge of yellow that I do like much better!

And lastly, Sylvia Joy in all her Sylvianess!

It's A Snowman Storm!

Not a lot to show you that is different. I have done about 3 dozen snowmen with three more dozen to go and still a dozen santas to finish. The latest batch finished!
I also took time to try out a super easy scrubbie pattern. I like it. It is double thick and a good size to fit well in your hand.
We were blessed with a good rain the other day. Still close to 8 inches short on rainfall but blessed for what we got.

Here is Miss sylvia and I saying hello. Well if she were more awake!
So intent on my crocheting she nearly fell off the sofa.
And just being Sylvia!

Stitching Thru The Cool Days!

We have been enjoying some wonderful coo days the last couple days. I did finish a dishcloth. Sorry the leaf is so hard to see. My camera is really worn out and tired. Hoping for a new one in the next year.

I also am doing some santa faces for a few people.
Most of my time will be spent on making snowmen. I have done two dozen and still have 86 snowmen to go! I can however do about 10-12 bodies a day. The hats and scarves take very little time and the faces I can manage about 7-10 a day. So I should be well done in time for Christmas for those who ordered them.
I have had a very good helper. Well sort of anyway! She stole a hat and played soccer all over the living room and slapped one snowman plum off the sofa!
Here is what they look like finished!

Heading down the pig trail!

Today is my Jack's 65rd birthday. I set up a surprise card shower for him using facebook. He has gotten 40 or more cards.
I baked him a mayo cake with cream cheese frosting and then we headed out for a drive down 16 highway known here as the pig trail. Perfect temperatures for a ride!

Found this lovely little church as well.
On the way home we stopped at Lake Sequoia to stretch our legs.

And Miss sylvia was not impressed by our absence!
Lastly, look at this wonderful old house we passed. If only it could talk! I wonder about the laughter and tears it has seen.
Huggles and blessings and thanks for visiting.

I Am Back

It has been a rough month so that is why you have not seen me for awhile. The first part of the month I had bad vertigo for four days. I did manage to post once after that but then things got worse! Jack's arthritis had him on the walker even as I was trying to recover from that vertigo. Oh but that was not the end of it! Oh no!!!! The alternator went out on the truck stranding us in another town. We got a jump and made it home but could not afford to fix it and found more issues with the truck so not worth fixing. Then Jack contacted this delightful, Christian, caring man. He goes by Mr. O.  Also pray for Mr. O as he has liver cancer.
This wonderful man got us financed for a wonderfully cared for 2007 Toyota Camry, took 1,000 dollars off the price and gave us 500 dollar trade in for the truck even though it was not running and had it towed in. Here is the car we now have. Never had we had one so nice!

I think Jack likes it!
There has not been a lot of crocheting going on with everything else happening but I have played with cables a bit in crochet.

And have since finished up this shawl for a friend.
I also have orders for several angels and snowflakes, santa ornaments and gingerbread men ornaments. And may have a couple or more afghan orders. So I shall be busy but we need the funds for sales tax. So now on to our silly, sweet Sylvia.

Thanks for visiting. Huggles and blessings.

One Of The Few~Jaon B. Ladd Book Review

I was approached by the author to read and review his book. I do not read a lot of books other than the Bible. However, I do enjoy reading a book about people searching for the Lord and their journeys. I found the book interesting and a good read. It covers many aspects of the author's life, military career, father and husband. He speaks about the secular worlds influence and other things in this world affecting a Christian walk. Also he speaks of the need for a "coherent worldview", how it affects our lives and how we can effectively share our believe with others. I would recommend this book!
