Banana banana bread, stitching and silliness

I tried a new banana bread recipe they call banana banana bread. Let me tell you it is wonderful! It has almost twice the usual amount of bananas in it and it is moist and oh so good! here is the link so you can try it out. Banana banana bread

Here is the progress on Rainbow Bridge.  I am getting ready to take a break from it and stitch up a piece for someone.

Just had to have some fun! I dare not work at tearing out the carpet in the bedroom without some kind of protection! My allergies would get even big time. but I really want to know if this mask makes me look fat? LOL!

Coming back

It has been to difficult to post the last several days but I am doing so, so much better.  I want to share this video with you today.  We sang it in church and what a glorious thought.

It is hard, but I am still working on Rainbow Bridge.  We took Katie's body to Springfield to be cremated.  It was not an easy trip and made her death so final.  God bless and huggles all.

Good Bye Miss Bug

Our Miss Katie-Bug passed away early this morning. I knew yesterday that she wasn't going to make it but I didn't want to admit it. She had completely quit eating and her breathing was rapid and labored and she was weak in her hindend. She wanted lots of tummy rubs and was trying so hard to be silly. I caught her looking at all of us in a way that is like she was trying to memorize our faces. Bennie stuck closer to her than usual and gave extra kisses. Last night at bedtime I noticed she felt cool to the touch not like being cold from being outside or anything. She loved on both of us a lot and wanted tummy rubs. Before she went to the foot of the bed, she kept touching my face with her nose and she has never done that. Jack woke at a quarter til five to find she had left the bed. He discovered her on the sofa. Apparently the pneumonia was to much for her. Katie was only about 8 or 9 years old. Our hearts are broken. Bennie is a bit lost as well and missing her.

A finish and a little visit

Blue Moon Angel is finally done and I really like how it came out! I am back to working on rainbow Bridge and haven't started another project yet, but I will!

This is a peek at the bedroom paint color and wallpaper border. We are nearly done in there.

Isn't this sweet? Katie became very ill Sunday. She had a slight cough since Thursday and it suddenly grew into something scary and awful yesterday. The vet honestly didn't know if she would live through the night. Come to find out, Bennie brought bronchial pneumonia with him. He never had more than a bit of a cough and is pretty much over it but poor Katie was hit hard. She has to take 4 medicines including lac-ix generic to get rid of all the fluid on her lungs. She did eat a little bit tonight for the first time since Saturday. Anyway, some of her friends on dogster made this for her. I thought that was so sweet.

Bennie, cross stitch and jam!

Have I told you about Bennie? I can not remember. We adopted him Wednesday from the same folks we got Katie from. He is a riot and you can not hardly tell that he is mostly blind and almost totally deaf. He lives life with gusto and that tail is always wagging. You should see him playing in the backyard!

 

Isn't he pretty?  And Katie gets along very well with him.  But it does confuse her a bit as to why he does not respond to her barks and the fact that he often does not see her.
 Now on to stitching!  I apologize for the pic of my angel.  My camera is slowly dieing so sometimes things don't look the best.  I am nearing the end on her.  Gotta do the rest of the beads and catch some things I missed.

And here is a piece Jack is working on.  It says Bless this kitchen and at the bottem it says, It needs all the prayers it can get!  LOL!  How funny and cute!

 

I made some strawberry freezer jam last night. It is so tasty, like fresh fruit. I plan to make homemade bread Sunday. Do drop by for a treat!

A little stitching

I am so close to being done with this one. Just a bit more on her dress including some more metallic floss and then time to do the beads! been a fun stitch but I am ready to move on!

Poor Jack is slaving away on the last corner in the living room. Been a frustrating thing as well. He spent a lot of time repairing and preping the wall for paint and then when it was painted you could just hear popping noises and the paint developed blisters all over.  We had to peel and scrape all the new AND the old paint off and start all over again.  It is finished now.  just a timy bit of baseboard for me to paint and a small bit of wall to paint above the windows.  Then on to the bedroom to tackle that painted over wall paper border!

Word filled Wednesday

Here I am!

This is usually what I see if I turn around while I am working in the kitchen.

I am getting really, really close to be donw with this! I can not wait!  Been a good project but I am ready to start another.

I am calling this one done even though I realized I forgot a couple stitches. Won't take long to do that then I can mat and frame it.

This the latest pair of pillowcases Jack finished. I really like them and he did a good job.

Katie is waiting for Jack to come home from his errand. She gets so excited when he returns and runs around with a toy in her mouth!
A wedding announcement I am about to finish up and my Blue Moon angel. She is about done as well.
This was taken just after church and the fellowship meal. We only had 41 in church as so many live out in the country. Only 15 of us dared stay for dinner. I love the snow but it is awful cold. It has been in the single digits and highs only around 15 and may dip below zero a few nights. Brrr, that is MORE than cha-willy.
