Stitching on a rainy Monday

Well after a morning of housework with my Jackster, I decided an afternoon of stitching and loving of the kitty was in order.  I am trying to finish up my sampler now after a few days of working on Names of Jesus.

Here is where I stand on Names of Jesus. I am using DMC's variations for the center .

Our neighbor Taylor turned a young 23 yesterday and his dad came over in this wonderful Chevy truck.

Busy time of stitching.

Jack and I pulled everything out of tubs and boxes in the hobby room this week.  We threw away a lot, found some things to give away, repacked the tubs and cleaned.  As you can see it was a mess for a couple days.

I also finished Jack's afghan this week and that makes me happy.  I had told him I would have it done before it got cold and I made it!

I Don't think I ever shared a picture of my finished shawl either.  So here it is.

Sylvia entertained herself  in the hobby room while Jack and I were slaving away.  Silly cat!

Crazy kitties and cross stitch.

Been a good day today as we burned the note at church following fellowship, food and singing.  I really enjoyed it but I am wiped out now.  Got some stitching done to and I have started another Names of Jesus piece.  It will be done mostly in tealy/aqua kind of colors with a little blue green too.

Here is where I left off on my Sampler.  It is nearly done.

Small post I am afraid!

Well I have put Jack's afghan aside until I pick up a couple skeins of yarn and then I will be finishing it up.  Yarn being so expensive anymore I can't buy all I need at once so I buy as I need.  Works out well that way.!

I am planning another names of Jesus piece and nearly have it worked out.  I was asked if I charge for these pieces.  No, I don't.  I make and give them to Pastors and churches and once I have given one to another person.  She wanted to pay and I told her I would take a donation to continue these projects, whatever she felt led to do.

So onto my Sampler then from Jeremiah Junction.  I have finished the alphabet and am on to the bottom little scene.  I love the leaves and there coloration but let me tell you they are not so quick to do with around 9 colors in them!  LOL!

I want to share some stitching from the 1990's and even 1980's.  But first here is a finish which just happens to be the Names Of Jesus piece.

And plenty of work has been done on the sampler as well.

Now for the oldies!  This is a large latch hook I started and Jack finished up in the early 1980's

And one of my favorites that Jack did many years ago as well.

Nearly finished!

Well here I am after another long stretch.  I seem to be really bad at blogging lately.  Anyway, the Names of Jesus piece is nearly done now.  I could finish it up this weekend if I try hard.

And I have gotten some done on my little sampler too.

Now for a pretty sunset picture I took tonight.  It was a stunning one after a lovely night and day of rain.

Jack and I needed some barstools.  We wanted two down here at the counter and one for Jack upstairs.  It can be hard to find 24 inch ones but we got these three for a wonderful price.  Someone had tried to make padded stools using plywood and vinyl.  Big time failure!  The plywood digs into your legs and it is just ugly so they will be redone soon.

Stitchy, stitchy everywhere

Well, yes I know I have been missing AGAIN!  LOL!  This time with a sick hubby over the weekend thru Monday.  He woke up Friday night with a nasty vertigo attack that beat up on him for three days.  All better now and I am back.

Been switching between cross stitch and crochet.  I have all but ten of the motifs I need for Jack's afghan.

And the Names Of Jesus piece is coming along as well.  It is very near to being done.

Jack and I are loving the colors of the sampler from Cross Country Stitching.

I got a two dollar off code for a friend's website on her latest creation and had to have it!  So pretty.  Her site is Joyful Expressions Cross Stitch if you are interested in looking around.

And of course I have to share a Sylvia Joy picture.  She is in a box under the table in the craft room on her favorite piece of velvet.  I had to have a little fun with it.

Unplanned Break!

Well this time I had no plan or reason for not posting in a few days.  But my camera charger sure did.  The same night of my last post it konked out.  so I had to way for hubby to get paid and find one I could afford.  Hopefully this one will give me 8 years of service like the old one did.


Here is where I am on the Names of Jesus piece.  Not a lot done but some.

I have also started a new piece.  It is from the October issue of Cross Country Stitching.  I am doing it on marble aida from DMC.  In case you are wondering, the cardinals have been bagged up and tucked safely in my tub.  I will leave them their until after the first of the year.  I just am tired still of working on them.
