old buildings, tomatoes and stitching

I have been working on my angel. It is one of those you work forever on just doing a small area. Of course with some of the blue floss on the blue fabric I do have to go slowly!
Here is the first of Jack's quilt squares. He has done a pair of them. The next pair he plans to do the roses in yellow. He is also working on another set of pillowcases. I will show those to you next time.
This is a building in what is called Old Town over in Nevada MO. I just love the way they have restored it and the paint colors they used.
Jack is a happy camper! His cherry tomatoes are starting to get ripe. This tomato plant is nice enough and very healthy, but I really like the tommy toes much better. You get a lot more tomatoes on them. I think next year we will go back to that species. For those who wonder what a tommy toe is, they are now called sweet cherry 100. Not a very interesting name and I prefer the old name thank you very much! LOL!
Be blessed everyone and I hope to get back to Word-filled Wednesday's next week. I have just not been very good at keeping up with anything of late! Got to get my act together!

Hi Michelle,
Your stitching is coming all so nicely.
I've never heard the name Tommy Toes, but we have the sweet 100's. This year my sun gold cherry tomatoes are producing the first (and best) When it get this hot (109ยบ) today, the tomato blossoms just fall off. They can't handle the high temps here!

All your stitching--and Jack's--is so beautiful! I know what you mean about stitching and stitching and just getting a small area done. So funny about tommy toes. We grow the sweet cherries too--I prefer the full-sized ones.

Hello dear Michelle,

Your stitching project is already looking beautiful, love the blue background! Jack's quilt squares are also gorgeous, you know me and roses! lol

That certainly is a very impressive old building...nice to see that they restored it instead of bulldozing it away like they do so many times now. Like you, I love the colours they used to paint it.

Well I'm sure glad you explained what Tommy Toes were....a relief to learn than it's not the toes of some guy named Tommy!! hehe Seriously, I've never heard of those either. We have cherry tomato plants growing as well but we had to plant so late, it won't be until the end of August before we get anything off them. xoxo

Yum...those tomatoes!! Today was the first day in a month that we have eaten a tomato...we had salmonella from eating bad tomatoes...Texas had more cases than anywhere in the nation. And I love tomatoes!

Hi Michelle!
Is that Nevada,Missouri your talking about? I spent my Summers from the time I was 10 until I got married, at my Grandma's farm in Sheldon, Missouri! Have you heard of it? It's (or was) a little blink of an eye town between Nevada and Lamar. Is it still there? I was a city girl (Chicago), but grew to love the country and have my dearest and fondest memories from my Summers spent at my Grandma's farm.
I love yours and Jack's stitching too--truly beautiful!
Blessings to you!
