The doily is finished despite Sylvia's dubious "help"! Still an end or two to work in. LOL!
And I have had a little progress on my Porthole Fish too. I am still enjoying them!
I had to tear out and redo the darker turquoise on the right of the little fish. That slowed my progress a bit.
Are any of you young enough to remember wooden spools? These were my Grams. Just look at the prices! I still have an use the button and carpet thread my grams had left. It is heavy tough stuff!
Now could we leave today with out Sylvia? She is a lazy bones in two pictures and washing her belly in one after she stole my corner of the loveseat!
Thanks for visiting and hopefully sharing a laugh or two. Blessings and huggles.

Sylvia just wants to share your hobby :) You can tell people it is your Sylvia doily. I do remember wooden spools...I see them in antique shops now....(sigh)
I had to smile when you asked about wooden thread spools. I still have some I bought when I first got married forty-five years ago. I still use the thread for light sewing, basting and such, not anywhere where thread strength really matters though. As always I really enjoy reading your blog. Your and little Miss Sylvias' doily work is lovely. I've often wondered where the finished 'Gathering Eggs' project ended up, I just fell in love with it.

Your doily is so pretty!
Hello
Just found your lovely blog.
Sylvia is adorable!
Your doily is beautiful and I love your fish WIP.
Happy weekend!

Such a pretty doily! My father just sent a bunch of stuff to me -- some of it was doilies my sister made when she was young. My sister was visiting this weekend so we went through them. Yours is just wonderful! Love your fish too! Sylvia is adorable! I love seeing the bottoms of her paws. :D
